Aims and Scope

The CMU Journal of Science (CMUJS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access multidisciplinary scientific journal published by Central Mindanao University (CMU). The journal serves as a key platform for advancing scientific knowledge, technological innovation, and sustainable human development.

Aims and Scope

The CMU Journal of Science (CMUJS) aims to promote and disseminate high-quality, high-impact original research articles, short communications, and review papers that advance globally sustainable environments and humane societies.

 The journal is dedicated to fostering international intellectual dialogue, providing evidence-based solutions, and bridging the gaps between basic sciences, technological applications, and socio-economic frameworks. CMUJS welcomes global, regional, and national submissions addressing cutting-edge scientific inquiries and real-world challenges across the following four primary pillars:

  1. Sustainable Agriculture, Food Security, and Agribusiness
    This section centers on optimizing the global food supply chain, enhancing farm resilience, and securing nutritional health.
    It welcomes papers addressing:
    Production & Development: Innovations in crop management, animal sciences, poultry development, and target research on small ruminants (goats).
    Agri-Food Systems: Advanced food science and technology, processing, storage, specialized packaging, and global agricultural marketing dynamics.
    Human Ecology & Economics: Agribusiness models, agricultural socio-economics, human nutrition, dietetics, and the functional crafts of clothing and textiles.
  2. Climate Change, Environmental Management, and Biodiversity
    This section provides an international forum for ecological preservation, natural resources management, and climate adaptations.
    Priority themes include:
    Climate Dynamics: Mitigation, vulnerability assessment, adaptive frameworks, and climate-resilient systems.
    Ecology & Conservation: Terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity conservation, bio-cultural biodiversity, and watershed rehabilitation.
    Resource Utilization: Environmental management policies, sustainable forestry practices, and forest products utilization technologies.
  3. Engineering Innovations, Information Systems, and Applied Sciences
    This pillar covers structural developments, electronic implementations, and the core disciplines driving modern technology promotion.
    It prioritizes:
    Applied Engineering: Locally appropriate engineering technologies, agricultural mechanization, smart architecture, and eco-friendly manufacturing designs.
    Digital Systems: Computing, information systems, data science applications, and digital infrastructure developments.
    Foundational Sciences: Original breakthroughs in mathematics, physics, and basic engineering sciences that underpin real-world engineering solutions.
