The CMU Journal of Science (CMUJS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access multidisciplinary scientific journal published by Central Mindanao University (CMU). The journal serves as a key platform for advancing scientific knowledge, technological innovation, and sustainable human development.

Aims and Scope

The CMU Journal of Science (CMUJS) aims to promote and disseminate high-quality, high-impact original research articles, short communications, and review papers that advance globally sustainable environments and humane societies.

The journal is dedicated to fostering international intellectual dialogue, providing evidence-based solutions, and bridging the gaps between basic sciences, technological applications, and socio-economic frameworks. CMUJS welcomes global, regional, and national submissions addressing cutting-edge scientific inquiries and real-world challenges. Areas of interest include:

  • Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness – Research on the economic, managerial, institutional, market, and policy dimensions of agriculture and agribusiness, including agricultural production, value chains, food systems, entrepreneurship, finance, trade, innovation, and rural development.
  • Environmental Sociology & Human Ecology – Research on human–environment relationships, environmental behavior, natural resource governance, climate change, sustainability, conservation, environmental justice, and the social dimensions of ecological change.
  • Rural Sociology & Community Development – Research on rural societies, livelihoods, community development, poverty and inequality, social inclusion, local governance, resilience, participatory development, and the transformation of rural and marginalized communities.
  • Health Social Sciences & Medical Anthropology – Research on the social, cultural, behavioral, and community dimensions of health and healthcare, including health inequalities, health behavior, healthcare systems, public health, health policy, and the social and cultural determinants of health.
  • Science & Technology Studies (STS) – Research on the interactions among science, technology, innovation, and society, including knowledge production, innovation systems, technology adoption, digital transformation, science and technology policy, ethics, responsible innovation, and societal impacts of emerging technologies.
